is this game worth it?

I was wondering If the 3rd Generation of pokemon (Ruby, Sapphire, emerald) were worth buying?

Also, which game out of the three do you reccomend.

I would appreciatte feedback

thanks.

You would still need Ruby and Sapphire to get exclusive pokemon but Emerald would be the game to get as there's extra pokemon. Instead of being confined to just Groudon or Kyogre in R/S, you can get them both as well as Rayquaza in Emerald.

Emerald hsa a cloning glitch that is very easy to use. I found it extremely helpful when I needed extra items that were hard to get. Once I got lucky egg, light ball, etc - I could clone them over and over for several pokemon to have.

thanks that was helpful!

I can only get one of the three versions, so i guess Emerald it is!

I might be able to purchase a Nintendo DS.

In case i where to ever purchase that, May i also have an opinion about Diamond and Pearl?(from anyone?)

thank you.

reply

There's really not a difference between Diamond and Pearl.

In Diamond, you can catch Dialga and in Pearl, you can catch Palkia.

Also, this site here has the version exclusives:

But with WiFi trading, it shouldn't be hard to get your hands on a bunch of pokemon.

Thanks well i sort of meant an explanation of the two game sets in general. How good are they?,are they worth it, etc.

The style is *much* different than the GBA games.

You can visit the Global Trading Station to trade with anyone around the world.

There's something called "chaining" with the Poke Radar to increase your chances of getting shinies.

You can add anyone to your Pal Pad and you can trade/battle with them.

It's a lot more interactive than the GBA games are so yes, I'd say it was worth it if you're seeking more out of Pokemon.

If it matters, The only reason I purchased my DS lite is because of Pokemon Diamond. I haven't regretted it yet.

Same here. Diamond and Pearl were the only reason for me getting a DS and I sure as hell don't regret it either. I would say these were great games with adding a balanced amount of new pokemon and evolved/preevolved pokemon from the previous three generations. The reintroduction of the time periods was done a lot better (I think) then it was in GSC. The Global Trading Station (GTS) made filling the Pokédex a lot easier. The Pokédex is now filled just by seeing the Pokémon rather than catching them, although the point of the game still is to catch all of them. My only complaint were that the Gym Leaders seem to be about the same, seeming to be less exciting, which I suppose is bound to happen since the Pokémon series pretty much is the same thing over and over again. The other thing that irritated me is the lack of a Dragon Master (either as a Gym Leader or part of the Elite Four), though I'm sure it's just because I'm a big Dragon Tamer.

Poor Conrad Veidt... his most famous film is one he wasn't even in...
