Saw this tonite - gang it's an alright flick

I saw this tonite at a theatre where it's being presented as part of Horrorfest 2007 - and really thought it was a worthwhile watch. There are plenty of ways to tell that it's a lo-budget horror indie flick, but within those parameters, I was really very impressed. The script and plot were to me especially intriguing: a whole set of horror sub-genres were represented, sequentially, in such a way that they really dovetailed fairly well. I really liked the way the movie kept a good, tight focus on the sub-genre & action of the moment. All in all, I liked it. Taken for what it is, I think this is a very watchable horror flick.

I like the way you described it Charles. I have to agree completely. I don't know if you've seen any of Rolfe's other films, but I'd strongly recommend two others to you. 1) There's Nothing Out There - this was Rolfe's first and it was really like "Scream," but 15 years ahead of its time. And 2) The Hazing - it's probably my favorite of his. This one really takes on the Evil Dead movies with some satire on "House on Haunted Hill" (plus it stars Tiffany Shepis). Somehow he is able to make these movies a true horror with comedic elements, usually not taking his movies too seriously.

I will concede that it got a little crazy at the end there.

I just saw this movie last night and the only real draw for me to really see it was two things: Tiffany Shepis and Rolfe Kanefsky. I must admit the movie was kind of fun to watch, Tiffany is always hilarious, but the movie had such poor actors to go along side of her, that I felt like she was in this movie completely alone when I watched it. She is definitely in a league for B-level horror all on her own. The movie had way too many plot holes and disconnects as well and for the most part did not make a lot of sense to me. Rolfe, what can I say, The Hazing (also stars Tiffany Shepis, Perry Shen and Nectar Rose) was awesome, fun, well casted and everything else cheesy horror should be. Nightmare Man on the other hand felt rushed and not well written. Also, great idea to bring Tiffany back in the lead, but the other lead Blythe and supporting cast was not very good at all.

Anyway, I got a little bored toward the middle, scratched my head a lot... For example, forgot to close the trunk, but next shot shows the trunk closed, got out one car door, never closed it, got into another car door and door was closed. The smaller details of this movie were really ignored while filming and made it seemed seem super low budget. The gore effects were really bad, especially Trinity's death and the blood in the movie looked pinkish white. The last time I checked, my blood was a dark crimson. Overall, I gave the movie 3/10 and that was because of TS.

I hope there's a part II, I like the theme. Low budget? maybe, but it was entertaining and it kept my interest.
