Did anyone notice the part when Nikki transfered a call to someone named Iris, and Iris had the creepiest, screamiest voice EVER? She was telling a man that she needed his social security number and she was literally screaming, in the weirdest voice. So, so strange. What was going on with that?
shareFrom what I understand, Iris is what is called a "Verifier" - someone in the US that a call gets transferred back to (maybe they don't trust the indians?) - a higher level telemarketer that does the social security and credit card verifications. I was also fascinated by this call when I saw the film in Korea recently and asked the filmmakers about this. These "verifiers" tend to be overworked and jaded that may explain her screechy shouting. But, yes, the creepiness... that I cannot explain!
