Spoiler.......Question about Freaky Mom & Dolls Heads

Approx. 15 minutes before the ending, the Inbred/ Freaky Mom is telling her equally Freaky Hubby that they'll need to lock their daughter up in the house walls to protect her from outsiders. Then BLAMMMMM!!! Freaky Mom gets shot in the stomach by the dying sheriff. Upon landing on the sofa, you can clearly see a bunch of dolls heads protruding from Freaky Mom's intestines. I don't believe they came from her housecoat pockets. So, if anyone can advise how & or why Mom had the doll heads inside of her & possibly how they got there, I'd be very grateful.

I really don't want to rewatch this charmer of a movie again, if I can avoid it, so I thought I'd ask here incase someone might have the answer.

Either I:
(1) Missed the explanation altogether.
or
(2) The explanation was edited out for commercial breaks....(Being that I saw the TV version & not the movie version).

If anyone could fill me in, I'd be very appreciative....
