Well-intentioned but could've been shorter, better...

It was flawed in its execution in my honest opinion. When they showed intertitles, why did they have the same religious quotes repeated at least three times? And why not any sort of narration? -It was the monks who took a vow of silence, not the German filmmakers!

This nearly three hour long film had many people walking out before it finished at the film festival I was at. Film-fest goers are more open and tolerant, but this Teutonic snorefest went overboard.

I'm sorry, but if they had not done what I've just commented on, I would've enjoyed this movie and voted it 8 stars of 10 rather than 2 stars.
