I haven't got a chance to watch it yet, but the very first thing I thought of when I red the plot was Wild Hogs. I mean aging men hitting the road again with their bikes and getting caught up with gang problems.
Not to mention a good chunk of the comments/posts seem to be from the makers of the film or people who were in it.
I saw this film yesterday and It's not Wild Hogs. It is funny as hell though I wonder how 'real' the tripping scenes were, bit too real at times. Grouch the stoner stole this film for me but only just as the others worked really well together. I wish I had been asked to be a extra in this film as it must have been such a laugh to make. definately the funniest British comedy this year and one going into my DVD collection.

FREEBIRD was originally a stage play that premiered at Bristol Old Vic in
1999. There were other productions in London and at the Edinburgh Festival.
The film was shot during 2005 and 2006 but unfortunetly not completed
until summer 2007 because of its original soundtrack.
It's not that i have the slightest thing against Wild Hogs, but just want to state that FREEBIRD has quite a history.

This isn't wildhogs, thankfully, which is an ok funny movie,
if your on this side of the pond, i.e. Scotland you are perhaps more likely to identify with this movie,
Freebird is a hilarious, well observed movie. A simmering cult birth, perhaps only to a few who see themselves in the characters :-) I dunno,
Perhaps you should watch it before making comparisons,

Freebird is anything but Wild Hogs. It's funny how people knock films when they haven't even seen them. Doesn't that sound really strange to you? This has to be the best comedy of the year so far. I've watched it three times now on DVD and it's a real grower. Accordingly to the other comments, it sounds like the Freebird script was written a long time before Wild Hogs. It's definitely got legs, or is it wheels. And Geoff Bell is totally convincing. Top marks.

Hogs made me laugh, whereas Freebird make me wince with pain it's that bad. No wonder it was not released in cinemas nor stocked at blockbuster shops.
Don't even bother borrowing it from a mate.
The lead actors are still good though, just let down by the poor material.
If someone wants to make a real film about the bikers of today, then they do worse than follow me and my pals on a trip round Europe.
That's where the adventure is, not in a film about dope.
And while I'm on...drugs are so last season, nobody does them any more. Binge drinking has taken the mantle for the scutters of today!
It's one of those films destined to go straight to video, to bin..

really i tohught that this was pretty accurate of 'bikers' in england today, although obviously u get the power ranger lots but im talking about the old groups, the main 3 guys is pretty much spot on i reckon
shareI agree, spot on. Drugs and booze may be old news in some scenes but not in general and definitely not in the generation the 3 leads belong to. Awesome movie especially if you belong to that generation.
