This shouldn't even be on the air on Fox or any other station. I know I have heard a voice actor claim that they don't want kids to get the wrong idea but this show is going to come back to them in years to come and they'll realize what this show was trying to show. This show wants to show that war is the answer. It's not. And GI Joe is not a brave soldier. He is a cowardly one. There are no brave soldiers. The GI Joe people don't even care why thier enimies do what they do. They just kill them. Maybe the enimies had a bad life and want to take thier anger on the world. These things such as this, are promoted to young children so they can take the message with open minds and won't think of anything else when a situation from GI Joe happens in the world. I am actually holding a petition to stop this. I don't how I can achieve this but if I do something like this, perhaps the world would be a just a little more peaceful if this poison that's on tv, won't consume the minds of our young viewers. Who is with me? I hope some of you are because this just can't go on.

Why don't you keep this crap in the thread you started instead of posing the same thing over and over? You're entitled to your opinion, but you would do well to remember that that reason you are allowed to express it is due to the sacrifice of some of the "Cowardly soldiers" you're labasting.

reply

I am well aware that since they went to war and killed millions without thinking about the reason why thier foe did what they did is because I'm doing this. I uderstand. I reccomend this

It's a nice book if you check it out. Be sure to read it. I'm sure the author needs a lot of reviews.

goddamn right!!

reply

Okay, are you for real here? Or perhaps a troll?

This is a thread on a kids show, not a damn debate on the war. Take it somewhere where else.

reply

Dude, define the show GI Joe. GI Joe=soldier=guns=kill enemy=WAR. Gee I thought everyone knew that here. I guess I'm dealing with people who were even more uneducated than I thought.

reply

why does everything on imdb that i hold dear go to *beep*
why can't i enjoy talking about gi joe? cause of all the goddamn liberal *beep*
i'm a Marine who served overseas and have loved gi joe since i was a kid. if you all want to rant and be hatefull join the taliban or go somewhere eles. why waste your dumbass lives bitching about something you hate.

if it wasent for the brave men and woman who served in WWII we would be speaking german, *beep* that!

reply

First of all to make one thing clear that gets mistaken about liberals. LIBERALS ARE NOT ON ANYONE'S SIDE. THE TALIBAN OR AMERICAN. I'm also very surprised that you were not one of the soldiers that didn't get PSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder). If you think about it, it's really disgusting to kill. And really, if you want to make a point, don't use foul language. That doesn't get you anywhere. If people didn't "bitch" about something they hated then this world wouldn't be what it is today. African Americans wouldn't be friends with Whites and immigrants wouldn't be here in this country. Look at Queens NY, it's the most diverse place in NYC. How is being liberal a bad thing? Life shouldn't be taken away from you because of a stupid mistake some person made in thier lives. I reccomend

Liberals arent on the american side? how can you say such a thing? so you think liberals dont want better rehab programs for criminals or improve social security or focus on problems in america first?

reply

you are truly an idiot.

you're FIFTEEN. what do you know about liberals, conservatives and moderates? you're just a lame anime fan

reply

Shows what you know. Take a look at the topic you created. For your information ,not all anime is violent. (Sadly, most are) Take a look at Mr. Hayo Miyazaki's films especially Howl's Moving Castle. (And part of Yugioh)

reply

What the hell kind of answer is that? Yes I know not all anime is violent but you know what? Yu-Gi-Oh is more violent than this sigma 6 crap. People have died in Yu-Gi-Oh than in Sig 6.

you still havent tried to explain what you know about being a "liberal." You're not a liberal. You're a bandwagon jumping naive brat.

reply

Here's what a liberal is. I think pretty much I'm this.

3. of, pertaining to, based on, or advocating liberalism.

6. of or pertaining to representational forms of government rather than aristocracies and monarchies.
7. free from prejudice or bigotry; tolerant: a liberal attitude toward foreigners.
8. open-minded or tolerant, esp. free of or not bound by traditional or conventional ideas, values, etc.

ok. i dont know whats all this about, and calling soldiers stupid, or weak, or whatever. I'm a Marine, currently in iraq, and all though i dont particularly like the Army, i have to step up if they get insulted ^_^, i'm not saying any of you are wrong, but if you havent been in the military then is hard to give an educated opinion about something you dont understand. Military personal follow orders, usualy coming from the goverment. you think any of us like to be here in this sand box, no, but we do it because is our job. I havent seen the GI Joe thing, i found this thread looking for series's made by Gonzo, but i imagine that this GI Joe soldiers where following orders from someone in command, is not as if a group of us can say,"hey, lets go to france and bomb the *beep* for the stunt they pulled during WW2". Is all about who is in change and giving the orders.

reply

It's great that you're a liberal, everyone is entitled to their own opinion in this country. But this cartoon is a KIDS show. Everything must be kid friendly, which is why the original 80's cartoon replaced bullets with lasers and why today they replaced regular cobra troops with the new B.A.T. robots.

It's a classic good vs. bad story that is seen in more places than just in this kids cartoon. To hold a REAL debate as to the legitimacy of G.I. Joe's fight against Cobra is insane, and it is insane for this reason... the writers have cleared ALL roadblocks that would give doubt as to whether or not Cobra were trully evil. The writers have made Cobra the embodiement of evil, you can't get more evil than them. The thing about writers is that they can mold the cartoon world into anything they want.

And in this case, Cobra=Evil. Plain and simple, no room for speculation. Zartan wasn't beaten as a child, Major Bludd didn't have his family killed by the government, nothing a very spiteful person like yourself could come up with to bash a kids cartoon.

And yes, you're very spiteful. The fact that you're here bringing in real-world politics and army bashing into a discussion of a cartoon where soldiers only kill robots and never people is concrete evidence.

You, as a "liberal", should PRAISE this cartoon. The soldiers only kill non-living robots and are completely inept in killing/capturing the enemy. Seems like how you view the military.

reply

I'm sorry, I didn't realize your age. You probably are not familiar with the 80's cartoon that most of us had grown up on and loved very much. In no cartoon of G.I. Joe, both in the 80's and now, did anybody die in combat. It seems like the Joes and Cobra shot everything BUT each other. Because it's a kids cartoon there were restrictions, like the one I stated in my first post where bullets were replaced by lasers. Joes and Cobras were hit in vehicles, but the animators made sure to show that if someone was shot down in a plane they automatically eject and parachute to saftey, and if they are in a tank or something the animators show the soldiers jump out to safety right in the nick of time.

If your problem with this cartoon is killing, rest assured NONE of it is in this cartoon. And at the age of 15, let me say that you have very strong convictions for a person at your age. I didn't have strong feelings politically until I graduated from high school. But you do have much to learn about what it means to be a liberal, such as both liberals and conservatives love America and are always on America's side. What I think you probably mean when you say that you're not on America's side is that you're not on the side of the Bush administration. But if you were to ask famous liberals, like Ted Kennedy, Hillary Clinton, and almost all of hollywood, they would all tell you that they love America and will always be on America's side. But being on the side of the president's actions is completely different.

reply

hrmmmm ok i have to say this, in this world if you want peace one has to be prepared for war, that is a saying that is as old as time its self, it is a saying the armed forces of the world have been saying it, the US armed forces dont pray for war, they never have, in fact they pray for peace and want nothing to do with killing any one, they only kill when some one tries to kill their families and country men that includes your sorry "beep" so if you want the true story of the US armed forces talk to them and ask them why they do it, and you will learn a thing or to about them and all of the others.

reply

The kids in the show ruined Transformers Armada.

I like the original G.I.Joe cartoon more than Sigma Six, but I don't mind Sigma Six.

reply

"He fights for freedom where ever there is trouble, GI Joe is there!"

Man you're such a tool.

reply

I just can't help but find this hilarious:

"The GI Joe people don't even care why thier enimies do what they do. They just kill them. Maybe the enimies had a bad life and want to take thier anger on the world." - Hotkoko99

So apparently if someone has a bad life, it's okay to take it out on other people's lives? I'm all for it, then!

reply

That's like asking me whether I would rather hang myself with a hemp rope or a silk rope. Either way, I'm dead and either way, they both suck.

reply

Both series sucked. and they had so much potential!

reply

Hey all,

I am so glad me and 50,000 or so people are putting our lives on the line so people with no real lives can complain about a war, that one, they have no idea about, and two, killing is not glorified in GI Joe cartoons and shouldn't be, but over here you need to be put in the kill or be killed mind frame. Unfortunatly the enemy just doesn't want us dead, they want every red, white and blue blooded american dead. We just want the trouble making planners of death gone. We protect what so many in the USA hold dear and close to there hearts, but, take advantage of, thats Free Speech, But, I degress, Back to the real matter at hand.

GI Joe, the origninal, not this anime wanna be, always showed after they shot down a plane the enemy got out and used a parachute. Blew up a tank, you saw that the Cobra's jumped out before the rocket hit. Only ones to get killed, or more or less broke were the bat soldiers. GI Joe opened a new eye on everything from talking to strangers to doing an anti drug series, where Cobra and Joe teamed up to destroy drug lords. As a fan of the old school GI Joe, the new one was a bore and a disappointment and lack substance of thinking on their feet and using their unique and individual skills in the time it is needed most, showing kids even though you are different, you can still do something in the world.

So I just don't watch them anymore and throw in the old reruns from the past. Everyone should try it and just reflect on the innocence of our childhood and go back to the day of leaving your front door unlock, comming in when the street light came on and saturday mornings were the days to eat your overly sugared cereal and watching 3 hours of awesome cartoons.

As a soldier the only thing I hold onto is getting home to my wife and love ones. Me and many other do the same thing. If you disagree then disagree, no reason to force your opinions on others. God bless you all and drink a few beers for me.

I hate Armada, but I don't hate Armada nearly as much as I hate Sigma Six. How could they even begin to call this atrocity of a cartoon series G.I. Joe or even begin to compare it to G.I.J.A.R.A.?
