weakest Kitano?

I just watched this for the first time and have to say that this is the weakest Kitano I've seen so far (I've seen nearly all of them).

It is very intelligent and I understand most of the allusions and jokes but the film lacks something. I can't tell what it is, but it just doesn't feel like his other films that I like better.

Anyway, I think it's great that he did it. I see that this piece is the director's very personal film that deals with himself only.
In the end I felt a lot of sadness and hollowness in/from it but again, that's how it's meant to be probably.
Also, what was a little surprise for me, it has a slight psychedelic touch to it. A lot of scenes just feel "different". I liked that. All in all 7/10.
