The film was banned because the culture police in Thailand thought things like seeing doctors drink beer or monks play the guitar would have a deleterious effect on the country. (I'm not kidding. Those were two major strikes against it in the eyes of the Thai Ministry of Culture -- they are killing the film industry in Thailand, or doing their best to do so).
What's wrong with doctors drinking beer or monks playing guitar ? It's not against any law or religion !!
Could there be other reasons ?
