I LIKED IT but NOT LOVED IT

This is good drama but I felt sorry for Hyun Bin's ex-girlfriend. I can feel her pain. Kim Sam Soon's only problem is her age and their custom and at the end I never felt she really changed. Maybe the couple will break up because Kim Sam Soon never really realized that she doesn't need a man to be happy. She was focus on having a good guy and get married.

I really don't like the character Kim Sam Soon because I feel she's kinda selfish and loud. She complains a lot!

I felt the story is real and honest! probably that's the reason why it's very popular!

I like it but I don't love it! I recommend people to watch it because of it's honesty

I'm not sure if there is something I am understanding correctly. Specifically, the part where you said the only problem is her age and their custom.

Are you referring to the fact that it's uncommon for someone her age to still be single? Because if that's the case .... on the one hand I can see why she made that a priority. I also see your point that she probably, in the end did not need a man to make her happy - especially since she had just opened the shop with her sister, and was doing something there she enjoyed.

Now to explain my first statement: In Korea, there's a lot of pressure to find someone by the time a person is a certain age, and to marry and have children. What her sister did (in divorcing her husband) is actually frowned upon there still a lot more than still being single in your thirties. Kim Sam-soon knew that was not necessarily what she wanted, and at first actually disliked Hyun- Bin's character (I think his name was Jin-Hyun). But when she found that she actually started liking him and thought "this could be the one", he wasn't so sure, as he always seemed torn between her and Hee-jin. I'm sure you know all this after watching the show. But perhaps the frustration of what is customary in their society could have been why she so vigerously pursued Jin-Hyun after she realized she liked him. I think if anything, he was a lot more distant and "flaky" toward her and made it more difficult for her to pursue him (again, with being torn between the 2 gals).

I never really got a "selfish" vibe from her. In what way (to you) does her character seem selfish? I don't mean to ask that in a mean or snotty way-but I think it's interesting that you saw that in her, that is why I am curious.

What I got more from her is frustration and maybe a feeling that she's "failed at life" or something along the lines of that. No matter how successful you are at something, it can be pretty sad/frustrating when there's an empty "void" there - no one to fufill your emotional/personal needs (ie: a significant other) - especially when you are 30. Even though that's a young age, and even if you're in a society where it's not so customary to get married or find someone so quickly, it can still be hard for a person, especially on an emotional/psychological level. But that's all relative and depends from person to person.

Also, do you think Jin-Hyun was a good guy for her. You mentioned that her focus was to find a good guy to marry and was just curious if you felt he was a good guy for her. What "may have" been with them if the series had went on for another 16 episodes, let's say?

I'm sorry but I'm the PRO-X girlfriend here.. I just felt she went through a lot and her love just vanished through time. I know it's her fault to leave without notice but she just doesn't want to add injury to Hyun Bin's situation that time.

I felt she was selfish at times. Especially the way she talks to the X-Girlfriend, it's too vulgar for me stating she don't like her etc. I know it's not wrong to be honest but she needs to emphatize other peoples feelings.

She acted selfishly when they were in a relationship then she had all these request of him. To do this and that etc. which are very humiliating for him. I felt Hyun Bin's character was forced to do it.

I believe Hyun Bin's character is good for her.. Kim Sam Soon has flaws as well.. Actually, He is better than her X-boyfriend who is a total jerk.

This is just me.. I believe that's the beauty of films because there are different points of view. I LIKE KIM SAM SOON because I want to be a little honest like her but I DON'T LIKE IT because it's just a little too honest for me, presently and she's also too loud and complains a lot.

Count me as another that think Hyung Bin should have ended with the Ex.

At first I didn't like Henry, but then I started to feel sorry for him, especially for being Hee-Jin's doormat. Henry knew Hee-Jin inside out, but Hee-Jin took him for granted, and couldn't even remember Henry's Mom was blind. Poor SOB, she's just clinging onto him because he's familiar, and he's so in love, he's willing to settle for companionship.
