I got the dvds of the first 2 series cheap and did not like series 1 very much.
But the characters grew on me and have just watched series 3 and it just gets better and better.
If people like cop shows and have not seen this you really need to seek it out.
The same with me. I´m going to rewatch S 1 - perhaps I just didn´t get it right.
shareFor anyone who has only seen one or two series of Spiral, my advice is stick with it. After watching the box sets of The Bridge and The Killing, I bought the first two series of Spiral on DVD and I was hooked on it from the start, bought the following three series and it definitely improved from one season to the next. I think it's a brilliant series, can't wait for season 6.
I only got to see series 3 of The Bridge on TV but on the strength of that I decided to get the box set and it was well worth while. I had no idea what had happened with regard to Saga Noren's previous partner even though it was mentioned briefly in series 3. It was certainly worth buying all 3 to tie up loose ends.
I can also recommend the The Killing to anyone who likes this kind of drama, again lots of fine writing and an excellent cast of interesting characters. I've always liked so called Scandi-Noir since the original series of Wallander was screened on BBC several years ago. I thought the Kenneth Branagh version was pretty good too.
I've read rave reviews about Borgen but it's set in the world of finance which I doubt if I'd find interesting. The first series of Braquo sounds like it may be more my style.
This means something, this is important.
