Crimson Spheres!! ARGH!

Can someone explain to me in very specific detail how to get the crimson sphere after defeating Baralai in the vegnagun room?

I have played it several times now and am still unable to obtain this single crimson sphere. All I've heard is that you need to return to the room where you fought Baralai. I've tried going back immediately afterwards and then going back at the beginning of chapter 3. It's never been there.

It's really frustrating! Any help at all would be much appreciated :)
