Dixie Chicks were right...

FUTK!

Seriously this guy is an embarrasement on every level.

reply

Lol. F U then too dude. Your mind is messed up man if you think some one who stands on good values and morals is worse than those back stabbing dixie chicks. Send those freaks to Iraq and they can spout off their anti-bush and Toby stuff over there right before they get SHOT!

I'm sixteen years old. I'm polite to every adult I meet. Why do they always look so surprised?

reply

The dixie chicks need to think before they speak. They've insulted Reba, Toby, AND the president. Toby is a good guy with good morals and a great singer.

reply

You better sign up for service as soon as you are 18. Hell, if you did get sent to Iraq you'd probably fight to get Saddam back into power, you seem to like the idea of killing dissidents.

reply

First off I'd feel honored to serve this country. Second... I don't have a problem with ppl who disagree with me. I have a problem with ppl who live on our soil and speak out against it. i have a problem with hypocrits.

This country's greatest trait is that everyone is given the freedom to speak their minds, no matter how unpopular or desent or protest.

Untill polticial correctness steps in.

reply

Yep. You would fit right in with Saddam. Kill those who speak out against the government. Dissent is Treason. War is Peace. Ignorance is Strength.

No person or organization is perfect. Speaking out when someone finds fault is not only a right, it is a responsibility. Conservatives had no problem attacking Clinton for eight years, but any attack on Bush is treated as a high crime punishable by death. How's that for hypocrisy?

reply

The Dixie Chicks this was about COTRWAB and does anyone know why he wrote the song?
No really, He wrote it for his dad who died six months before in a hit and run. The song is about how his dad would have felt it he was stil here when it happened. Then he had to go tho this...witch he just found it all funny...But when someone calls Toby a lier he will when and show that he id not lie.

Clinton was a reprobate who abused his office by using his power to take advantage of pages. Lewinski is the only one we know about. How many others. Bush, whether you like his methods or not, is reponding to a direct attack on our soil by Islamofacists who want to kill us and stop our way of life because we represent free thinking and freedom. What did FDR do when the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor? Then as now there were dissenters to the war but you didn't see the outright blatant hatred and continuous, degrading, obnoxious remarks directed at the president like you see now. The best defense is a good offense. We should take it to them. What I can blame the president for is listening to Cheney and Rumsfeld too much when he should have been listening to Colin Powell.

Had the events of September 11th occurred during the Clinton years, I would have loved to see the reaction by him and his cronies to the attack and more so, how the press would have handled it. Clinton had the chance to take out Osama Bin Laden and he didn't take it. As George Will stated in one of his Newsweek contributions, "All Clinton did was send a $1,000,000.00 missle to blow up a $10.00 tent."

reply

"Bush, whether you like his methods or not, is reponding to a direct attack"

He's responding to a direct attack by attacking a nation that didn't have anything to do with said attack.

"Had the events of September 11th occurred during the Clinton years, I would have loved to see the reaction by him and his cronies to the attack and more so, how the press would have handled it."

They did attack. Clinton tried to get Bin Ladden. Every time he did, the Republican party tried to stop him. The reason he used a $1 million missle was because the Republicans wouldn't give him authorization to use ground troops.

"Clinton had the chance to take out Osama Bin Laden and he didn't take it."

Okay, I'm going to need more details here. I want to know what lie you are passing on.

This guy, along with Kenny Chesney, is f-ing up "country" music. What these idiots play that passes for country music is silly, sentimental, right-wing, crap. Music by Toby Keith, Chesney, Brooks and Dunn, and all the rest of the right-wing, psuedo good ol' boys is just plain awful and on the same lines with the music talent of all of the boy bands that are jamming up the pop charts.
These dim bulbs claim to sing for America and about the working man and freedom and blah, blah, blah... What they do is contribute to the dumbing down of America. All of these guys are big Bush backers and that should say enough in and of itself.
Why and when did country music go down the tubes? Now these guys think they can act? They are already acting! Their stage persona, the all American, good ol' boy, cowboy images are phomie and as crappy as their music.
If Sam Peckinpah were still here and he saw these silly boobs parading around as "cowboy-wannabes", he would walk up to them and piss on their shiny boots! As should we all, my friends.
Cash is gone as is Waylon. Kristofferson and Willie Nelson(who sings with Keith sometimes and is in this friggin' movie!) don't have too many years left. Keith, Chesney, and the rest of the crappy cowboy squad are the ones to take over? We are lost, my friends. Country music, real country music, will be lost forever.
To quote Waylon Jennings..."I don't think Hank done it this way."

"American was founded by ppl that thought that the status quo was not good enough and they fought to change things." It's not Bush's fault the status quo sucks. It's the fault of the ppl like the Dixie chicks who won't get their head out of their ass and do something to make it better rather than talking against the person who is trying to make it better. As for speaking out against Clinton, and being hypocritical when saying you shouldn't speak out against Bush... Clinton deserved it. He lied to America and if he had done what he needed to do when he was in office we wouldn't even be in the war we are in now. Bush is trying, Clinton never put forth any such effort. He was to busy with his pants at his knees.

He has his fans(like me) who care about him and thats all he cares about. so just stop. oh ya and he is a person...he has feeling!

ignorance is bliss... be thankful you live in a country where you can speak out against the president... in Iraq if you spoke out against Saddam you were tortured and murdered of course they didnt stop there they then proceeded to murder, torture and rape your entire family..... maybe the dixie chicks should think about that before that little fat one opens her big mouth

reply

Yea you make it sound like the Dixie Chicks didn't pay for what they did they were sent death threats and band from the contry radio station almost like banashing...so to say oh be thankful you live in a country where you can speak out against the president well thats a lie because you may beable to say it but you will pay for it.
Personally I am glad I don't live in the US.I hate politics altogether.

Dixie Chicks are good musicians and have the right to speak out.
And I thought the movie Broken Bridges was really good.

**Bones: Objectively I'd say I'm very smart but it has nothing to do with my ass.**

youve got it all wrong... the Chixie Dicks werent talking about Toby Keith when they said that... they were talking about... obviously... Ted Kennedy... duh.</sarcastic>

reply

celebs should be seen and not heard.. i personally dont care if they are republicans or democrats or green party or whatever. if the dixie chicks really thought that they can go and spout off and say whatever they want and not be punished for it they need to wake up and get back to reality. they deserve every hate letter and bannishment from the radio that they got.

Does anyone not remember why we are in Iraq right now? Because of all the people that died on 9-11. So I think, whenever you bash the war effort, toby (b/c he supports it), the president, that you are also bashing those who died that day!!!!!!!!

reply

No disrespect here, I don't mean to come across as a jerk to you, but we are not in Iraq because of 9/11. Iraq had very little if not nothing to do with 9/11. It was Al-Qaeda in Afghanistan. Bush found ignored Afghanistan and foolishly invaded Iraq. If you bash the Iraq war, it doesn't mean you bash those who died that day. But if they knew what was going on, the lost loved ones would be very angry that we aren't aggressively pursuing Osama bin Laden and eliminating Al-Qaeda altogether.

To the first poster: YOU ARE A F*&^%$# MORON. THis is a BROKEN BRIDGES message board. This has absolutely NOTHING to do with the Dixie Chicks. Okay? If you want to show your support for them, here's a crazy idea: Go to the Dixie Chicks message board with all the other groupies! Don't pollute good message boards with your crap. Just because Toby Keith insulted them does not mean they have anything to do with this movie, and they deserved it anyway.

So to the Dixie Chicks: LEAVE AMERICA. To the first poster: LEAVE THIS BOARD.

Okay, Okay. I just need to make some statements. First of all Al Queda and Iraq are/were not in cohoots with each other. This was a lie that the Bush Administration fabricated. Second, the only reason we are in Iraq is because of oil. Yes, I said it, OIL. That is the only reason. Third, we (the United States) as a country are not better off because Saddam is out of power and dead. Nor is Iraq a safer country. If you believe this lie then you realy need to watch the news, or talk to the men and women over there. US troops are dieing everyday. This is another Vietnam, with us not know who is on our side. Iraq is in a basic state of civil war. They are just killing each other and will continue to kill each other. The country is no longer a country. It is three seperate states trying to organize into a country. The Kurds basically already have their own government set up in the north. The Sunni and shiites just continue to kill each other with no end in site. Now I may get a few harsh critics but it needs to be said. Iraq would be better off if Saddam was still in power. Atleast he knew how to keep his people in line. All these people did not go around killing each other. To say to speak out against war in Iraz is saying that I do not support my soldiers fighting over there is gross intelligence. I know several guys over there. Six of my friends are over there as I am typing this. I worry everyday about them. They should not be over there. Let the Sunnis and shiites fight it out. Now fourth, do I think the Dixie Chicks screwed up? Yes. That was over 3 years ago. Let it go. Goodness. One of God's biggest commandments is to forgive. If you are all big on Bush then I suposse that you are a conservative. If you are then why do you continue to bring this stupid topic back up. Let it go. Forgiveness is the greatest gift God has given.

That's knucking futs!

reply

You know, I agree with you. I think that the war in Iraq is completely unnecessary. Bush thinks that we should stay until democracy prevails in Iraq. What he fails to realize is that democracy will NEVER prevail in Iraq. I think a main reason we went there in the first place is to finish what his father started. He did, as Saddam is dead. Now that we are still there, it has to be about oil.

America should take care of America, we should embrace isolationism as far as not interfering with any other countries civil war. This is Iraq's fight, not America's.

They say that there will be chaos if we leave Iraq. You know, there will be chaos in Iraq regardless of whether we stay or not.

I'm not sure if I agree with your statement that Iraq would be better off with Saddam still in power, but I do think that Saddam was not as big of a threat as Kim Jong Il, Hugo Chavez, or Mahmoud Ahmedinejad is now.

The fact that we went to Iraq to fight Saddam when we should have been all over looking for bin Laden baffles me.

About the Dixie Chicks, I agree that the whole deal with what they said is ridiculous, and the fact that people are still bellyaching over it is crazy. The Dixie Chicks are great musicians and they deserve to have their career back. But I had to side with Toby Keith when it came to the feud. No matter how good the Dixie Chicks may be, I will always be a Toby Keith warrior.

I agree with you. Why in hell did the Bush administration orchestrate a war with Saddam when we got Kim Jong Il, Mahmoud Ahmedinejad actualy producing weopons of mass destruction. Now our military is strected way too thin. When they are forcing soldiers to stay over there in Iraq past their time or some soldiers are doing their third tour, we are strected thin. And why is the National Guard over there anyways. I thought the name stood for something, NATIONAL GUARD not National Army. The national guard should remain in the United States.

I do believe Toby Keith had the right to say what he said as well as the Dixie Chics. Hello, we live in the land of free.

you know saddam needed to be overthrown. he was doing whatever he wanted, ignored the UN. killed hundreds of thousands of people where they are still finding mass graves from 20 years ago, he was doing what hitler was doing in the 40s basically. As for the military issue as it has been said hundereds of times Clinton depleated the armed forces by 60% not that it should be an excuse to blame it on clinton because i could have a field day. my dad has personally done three tours of duty and i wont go to say he doesnt mind because he would rather stay home but as a solider he realizes its his duty. not to mention they get paid fairly well and tax free. people should really reseach this before they speak and i dont mean watch CNN OR FOX cause those people tell you what you want to hear.... and the dixie chicks yeah they as americans had the right to say what they did... but they said it out of the country to a bunch of foriegners a year after september 11th thats cowadice and im ashamed to share the title of american with the likes of them.
