Toby Keith/Bo Price hitting an underage child?

it's only a movie i agree but movies affect people. did anyone have any thoughts on the scene where Toby "Bo Price" heads over to beat the kid up that tried to rape his daughter? we understand that a father would want to beat up a kid like that but i'm assuming this kids character in the movie is under 21 and probably under 18...obviously the kid or his parents could have pressed charges against Bo for hitting him. this isn't what the movie is about so this scene wasn't embellished on. but my question is...depending on the reputation Toby Keith is setting for himslef with his fans...was it acceptable to see his character in the film beat up an under age child or does any one care...
i realize toby keith has a blunt reputation as a singer but isnt he also setting standards of being a strong family man with family values and the fact that he has kids in real life...i just wonder if anyone was turned off by this scene or does it matter to you...that his character hit an underage kid?

Well while it's wrong, it is in defense of his kid. You won't find to many Daddys (since anyone can be a biological father) not lose it if their daughter was being raped.

It's not like he beat the living hell out of the kid.
I would put a bullet in the kids head if it were my daughter. That's just me, don't F#$@ with my kids or your life is gone. I know I'll go to prison but that'll be one less tard that meses with girls like that.

So what if he was underage? I mean, it's not like he could go to the police and say, "this guy beat me up after I nearly raped his daughter. I would like to press charges." HA! The cops would laugh at his @ss before he got arrested. That's like the friend of a drug addict stealing a bag of his drugs and then the drug addict goes to the cops and says, "I would like to press theft charges against my friend for theft of illegal substances."

Well, Santucary Zones allow Illegals to press charges on others without being charged with being here Illegally.

I'm pretty sure they were talking about illegal substances not illegal aliens :P

Also, I don't think there's anything wrong with a father going after the guy who tried to rape his daughter, no matter WHAT age the guy is. My dad has always said that if anyone ever messed with me or my sister he'd kick their ass and damn the consequences. It's definitely not something that comes into your mind in a situation like this "I wanna kick this guy's ass for trying to hurt my daughter, but oh wait, he's underage, I can't"? It's just not considered, it's not important compared to getting revenge for your daughter and teaching the guy a lesson.

There are numerous legal cases that have set precedent on this issue. No parent has ever been sentenced for child abuse or endangering in such a matter. The legal system looks at it in different ways: protection of child who was actually endangered is usually the case. I have even seen the classic temporary insanity used successfully due to the stress/rage. Now if you were to tatally mess the kid up and put him in the hospital, well that is a different story.
Movie wise: Bo is the town's star hero. Anyone who played sports in a small sports twon would understand that special "previliges" are gained by the "star" status. Also think realistically. Kid attempts rape so I feel the kid's parents would let a few punches go so their son can get off with charge if Dixie does not press charges. Now some states will allow the parents or the DA to still file charges on behalf of chuildren under 16, but Dixie was above this age.

actaully in todays legal system it dont matter if she pressed charges the courts can still press charges even if the victim doesnt want it

I say that if the ass had it comin, he had it comin. Which is probabley why Bo didn't get arrested.

But I thought that they guy was older than Dixie. I don't know why, but he just looks older I guess.

First, just a movie... Second, just a movie... Third, say you have a daughter. If somebody tried to rape your daughter, would you just tell him to not, or would you beat the little *beep* bastard's ass? Please, humor me. Thanks, goodbye.

well first off any "country" person would had done that... hell any mom or dad would had done that. have yall never seen Law and Order-SVU most the rape victims parents on there KILL the person. the guy deserved to be punched. oh and dont forget they stole his truck. and its not toby keith and the character and im pretty sure alot of parents were glad he did that in the movie... if he didnt i know alot would had raised some eye brows.

the movie was set in a small town... any dad or mom would had done that in that town.

Who the hell cares. Its not like the kid is 3. He should shot the little bitch. In fact this should happen more often. I am not saying beat your kids on an everyday basis,but attempted rape is a big thing that should be dealt with with a little ass beating underage or not.
