Had no clue till today, totally not their style.
I was looking through the threads because I thought a lot of old State/Reno 911 fans must have been disappointed that those guys wrote this crap. The only thread I found was yours. Yeah, I wouldn't have thought Lennon and Garant would write something like this. Thank god for the Stella guys!
shareThey've actually written a couple of movies. Every once in a while I heard a line that I imagined someone on Reno would say... so funny! This movie was hilarious and charming, and I really don't see why anyone is hating on it. I'm just going to assume that either the jokes went over their heads, they are dead inside and don't laugh at anything except violent hatred, or didn't like it because it wasn't World of Warcraft related and that's the only language they understand anymore. From a writer's perspective I though the movie had great timing, clever diologue, a sensical and interesting arc, and fantastic characterization. I really don't see why anyone attacks the writing, when it's you personal taste that is "jimmy-jacking" your enjoyment of the film!
shareWhat are you talking about? Of course it's my personal taste. And I would think that anybody who likes edgy stuff like The State, Stella, and Wet Hot American Summer, would think this movie is pretty bland and boring. I'm sure it's a fine kid's movie though.
