Most annoying helicopters ever!

No news helicopters fly nap of the Earth. Period. Whoever thought it would be cool to put that in the movie should never work in Hollywood again.

Also, If you are going to derail a speeding runaway train carrying toxic, explosive chemicals would you line up emergency vehicles and personnel right next to the derailing devices?

Tony scott came up with that idea of flying the choppers like that.

i do agree with you on the emergency vehicle's being that close and everyone else especially when it is said a few times that derailing it would cause a massive explosion. Hence why they didn't want the train to derail in Stanton more casualties/deaths since Stanton was a bigger town and evacuating it was harder.

Yes, there were several scenes where the news chopper appeared to be flying below the level of the train, like the train was on an elevated berm and the helicopter was at ground level. It was utterly ridiculous, but obviously done to heighten the dramatic effect. I agree it was annoying as hell.

He wont. RIP Tony
..but yeah , it was dumb. Those news copters were so close the camera man could have reached over and shut the train down!

One of the things I noticed when I first saw this movie. I like the movie but, no, news helicopters do NOT fly that close to the ground unless they are taking off or landing. :-) - John
