It does what it sets out to do. 90 minutes of trying to stop a train, without a lot of extraneous character fuss. Seen it twice (own it on Blu-Ray). It's a solid effort from Scott.

Excatly, I dont generally like movies like this, but this one was damn good

Ditto, could've been an 8.5 for me...

I agree with you two. The OP is just trolling.

Movies should be judged on the style and tone they set for themselves. For the kind of stories he told, Tony Scott was amazing.

You might very well think that. I couldn't possibly comment.

reply

Tony Scott was never amazing for even a single day of his life. He was boring and derivative.

I can only manage a 4 for it

reply

Agree, only a 4 for this inept effort

..stay that way.. PLEASE?

reply

I agree, it's way too low - great, fun movie - consistently re-watchable

Considering the movie is based on a real runaway train incident and had some good suspense moments and acting and I like the cinematography, I personally would give it an 8.

reply

I gave it an 8. I can't remember why now. I've always liked Denzel Washington and Chris Pine was the new el capitan of the Enterprise back then so that could have influenced me a bit. I could say it's just a movie, why worry about the rating but one day I'll be the one bitching about a rating and some smart ass will come along and say it's just a movie. Where was I? ...
