Not into Humanism.

Could be an ideological conflict. Hegel was adopted by German authoritarians. Or it could just be that he's so damn complicated. I suspect it was just to show how you get kids in niches that have very intense preferences about things. The debate kids are intense about their own little enterprise, and so do the philosophy club members.

Probably the best line in the film...and a film which, IMHO didn't have a whole lotta great lines. Ironic for a film whose main subject (or one of them) was speech (debate and stuttering). Leave it to Hill, even in a small role, to deliver the best line.
