So what days were real and what days were not?

Can somebody maybe explain all the days, in order, that actually HAPPENED?

Because something I don't understand is... if time is linear, and she's just experiencing it out of order, does that mean she winds up in the mental asylum again after Jim dies? Also the police officer came to tell her at her house, but she was THERE? Or were some days just showing her what *could* have happened? Were some days just her premonitions, that didn't necessarily predict the future?

I'm having such a hard time understanding this!

I know its been a while since you posted about this but i just watched this movie and what i got out of it is the premonitions start the day she gets news that her husband has died. And that's all they are...just premonitions. They are not actual events but yet glimpses of things that are going to happen. Like in the one premonition where she is being committed she sees her daughters face with the cuts but she had no idea how they got there then in reality we learn that she runs through a plate glass door. She never actually gets committed. Also like the premonition of the funeral and she sees the woman hiding behind the tree. She then in reality sees her in the husbands office and connects the dots and realizes there is something going on between her and her husband. Anyway just wanted to respond because i believe to appreciate this movie you have to understand that everything in the premonitions are not what is to come but that certain details are.
