DON'T YOU THINK?

Don't you think the VMA's have focused more on Rap and R&B because they are trying to draw a wider audience? MTV's beginning was strictlt rock and alternative music. They evolved with that type of audience and BET did the same, drawing minorities as their audiences. I think both are trying to be more diverse, but the wheels of equality move slowly, the posts show that.
The bottom line is MONEY.

I totally agree, but at least it wasnt as bad as last year, i can't even watch the repeats of last years VMA's all it was was Rap and RnB even the winners of the awards were Rap Artists. So wen i watched this years i was glad to see bands like Greenday, Coldplay, Shakira, Kelly Clarkson, The Killers performing and the music not being Rap and R&B the whole show even. I do like some Rap and R&B i dont dislike a particular type of music but wen the majority of the show is Rap and R&B i does kinda drag on and get on your nerves so hopefully next year we'll hav a good amount of rap and R&Bso it doesnt become annoying but also some other genres of music also.

I'm not so good with the advice... Can I interest you in a sarcastic comment?

I think that rap and hip hop was the most popular music of this certain year. I believe what ever music that the majority of poelpe like and that did good for that certain year than that's the music there going to play.

True, but BET has always been about reaching the minority audience, so they don't really count. It was nice to have an alternative (no pun intended) to all of the rap and r&b (it just isn't my thing even though I'm African-American) so I looked forward to watching MTV. But no more. That's probably why they have MTV2 now. They're somewhat more diverse (they'll even sneak in a DANCE track every now and then).

Does anyone know is MTV2 is still on air?

I really need a clever signature.
