Was Timothy 'out' at school

Since my English is not very good, I get lost on the dialogs many times, so the script is not always clear to me. So, sorry if it`s a stupid question, but I was not clear to me if the other guys at school (as well as the coach) really now from the beginning that Timothy was gay, or if they were just teasing him.

It seems to me that everybody now, though. They were always picking on him. and when he got home with the black eye, his mother seemed afraid that he was bullied because of his sexuality. But I just not sure.

I wasn't really sure if Timothy was out at school, either.

His classmates may have been picking on him for being gay — or they may have just been teasing him for being less "manly" than they thought themselves to be.

The reviews I read in the external reviews section say that Timothy was out at school.

It seemed pretty clear to me that he was out--at school, to his mom, to his friends. That's why he wanted people to spending a day "in my shoes," so they could see what his life was like.
