'David'

In real life would someone as pretty as Jodie really be attracted to such an unattractive and scruffy looking guy as her fiance' David in this movie? I think not.

Love comes in all dimensions. OPEN THE MIND.

Naveen Andrews who played David is hot. I guess you didn't watch Lost. Jodie used to be pretty. She seems more boyish now that she's "out". And she's getting older like the rest of us. I see how Jodie's character could be attracted to Naveen Andrew's character.

reply

I guess it is a matter of taste. Some people find Naveen a handsome man. Some people find Jodie Foster to be less than attractive.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Naveen Andrews is SEXY as hell!

reply

Indeed! I frankly found it a bit preposterous that he would be attracted to Foster (who, god bless her, in their two scenes together is wearing some of the most lesbianic shoes I've ever seen ...)

reply

As hard as it is to believe, I had some real knockouts attracted to me in my younger days, so I can believe Jody being attracted to that guy...women don't always put as much importance on physical appearance as we guys do.

Life, every now and then, behaves as though it had seen too many bad movies

reply

hahaaa lesbianic. I'm stealing that.

Christ on a Cracker mhsmocktrial (another great line!) I laughed so hard I was thinking the same thing! But is Lesbianic a real word? I agree every ones taste are different when it comes to love & relationships but in this instance I think casting was working hard to help the audience to believe Jodie could have this "type" of relationship since we all know now how she swings she's come out. Making a deliberate stretch in what 'norm' is, would help the audience to 'Believe'! Oh Yeah Good Choice on Firearms!

Jodie is not 'pretty'; she's always been just 'ok'.

Having said that, one of the things I dislike about the film is that there is zero sense of connection between these two.

'Then' and 'than' are completely different words and have completely different meanings.

Surely when you have only 5 minutes of on-screen time together you can't build chemistry.

I just looked up at my movie collection and saw the remake of Dawn Of The Dead. They managed great chemistry with the couple at the beginning of the film. It's been done.

I agree. He looks greasy all the time. But perhaps if it was real life the reason she would be with him was that he would have to have a large ....um.... let's just call it a you-know-what.

...Or perhaps a good job? ...A wonderful personality? (...But probably my first guess.)

reply

I also think Naveen is hot, but then again I am attracted to scruffy "Eastern" men I guess, even if that might not be the best word to use.

And looking at his dating history, I actually think its fairly interesting casting.

Anyway, he wasn't in the movie very long, so its not like it matters much.

I never find Jodie Foster to be "pretty". She's just okay to me, almost boyish. I guess OP is into that type of laydees?
