music for series 2 episode 6

Its all beautiful! the guitar music, the introduction piano music. does anyone know what those pieces are?

reply

sorry no answers but a related question - what was the closing music for this the last episode?

reply

I agree, and thought the closing, "To see, To hear, To touch, To kiss, To love" song/aria? at the end, was especially beautiful. Any one know where it comes from?

reply

that was John Dowland - come again! Sweet love doth now invite

anyone know the guitar track and the introduction music?

reply

I only caught the piece of piano music when JL is staring into the river, which is by JS Bach: the Concerto in D minor (BWV 974) which is his 1713 arrangement of an oboe concerto by one Allesandro Marcello. The playing etc is charateristic of Glenn Gould.

I'm told that an earlier piece of piano music was from Janacek's "On an overgrown path"

reply

Thanks. You don't happen to know who was singing this version? I have looked and listened to quite a few different versions on the web, including Sting's attempt. None are as good as the one on Sensitive skin.

reply

I believe it may be Andrew Dalton on the album 'Dowland: Lute Songs'.

reply

I agree it can be very frustrating when programmes do not credit music and furthermore there is no information on the the bbc website. The end title music certainly sounded as if it was a Dowland lute song - it is a great pity there are no details about this. I hope that whoever is responsible for the sub titles will correct this as soon as possible.

Regarding the version of Dowland's "Come again, sweet love doth now invite" I am now almost certain (pending credit confirmation) that it sung by Andrew Dalton. In any case, the Andrew Dalton track available on iTunes is a beautiful rendition of this haunting song.

Sorry, it's actually Daniel Taylor! The link below will take you the production company's music credits for series II.
