Why does orel's dad....

Drop his pants at the end of the episode? The only thing I feel it implies is that he gets "orel" to suck him off.

ex. Orels Dad: Well son, lets go drink dinner
Orel: Dont you mean eat dinner dad?
*Dads pants drop*

Plus it would explain why he's named Orel

He's about to whip his son.

"He's about to whip his son"

-then how come at the start of every "study" scene orel is pulling his pants up
-plus in one episode we learn that he is spanked with his belt prior to being talked to
-plus, why would he spank orel after them already sorting everything out?

Errr.. no. it's because he uses his belt to keep his pants on, and to beat orel when it's "necessary". they talk everything over after Orel's been beaten, because his dad punishes him before hearing the full story and explaining stuff to orel. then, when he gets up to go to dinner or whatever, he forgets to put his belt back on, and his pants fall off. orels pants are down to produce as much pain as possible. that's how the punishment works.

It's because his belt is no longer holding up his pants.... How is that not obvious?

reply

I think it is pretty obvious.. and perhaps the OP has revealed something about his own childhood? Hmm. /strokes chin.

Clay's pants drop because the belt he was using to keep them up was in his hand to beat his son; hence his pants do not have anything holding them up!

What? No not at all. His pants fall down because he isn't wearing his belt. He's not wearing his belt because he's just beaten Orel with it, and probably due to drunkeness forgot to put it back on.

By that logic the entire town in the episode about racism had all molested Orel.

The pants dropping is a throwback to old corny jokes in shows like Leaver to Beaver or that one where the guy falls over the stool. Or perhaps a reference to the grim humour of Waiting for Godot where Estragon takes off his belt to hang himself from a tree and his pants fall down. Either way I'm certain Orel wasn't molested by Clay.

Samuel Beckett reference in a post about Moral Orel... Sir, can we be friends? hahaha

It's ok OP, i got the same impression at first... but i'm pretty sure that it's not meant to be taken that way... he's just beating his son with his belt. but i see where you'd get that idea... like i said, i used to think the same thing. once i actually got into an argument with my boyfriend about it because he only saw it as Orel getting beaten too...

I have only watched 3-5 episodes and dad is really creepy if you ask me. He's always drinking in his man cave and has some weird stuff going on.

reply

The dad drinks to forget. I thought it was to show he was a drunk and after that heavy handed conversation, that's all he was even if Orel looked up to him.
