I was curious too, but I gave it some thought and as crazy it is for me to believe (no sarcasm), some people just didn't like the transition to darker and more heartfelt stories. There are also those people hypersensitive to religion being using in any entertainment medium (especially adult animation), thinking that it's all anti-religious. And then there are those who didn't like the first season and just based their score on that.

I'm with you, though. It's tragic that Moral Orel is so underrated.

It just wasn't that funny or well written. Once you get past the fact that it's claymation and dark, there's not a lot to it. We get the irony of it being about weird stuff while looking like an old kids TV special, but it needs jokes beyond that. It's like they thought of a concept and stopped there thinking a one note joke would sustain an entire show...

The show was perfectly fine until Nature...

At which point it became one of the best shows on television. Season 3 is a masterpiece of narrative construction, intimacy and dark humor. The writers went for the throat and left everyone else in the dust.

MO is up to a 7.7 now, but it should be closer to an 8.5.

Agreed. I think this show should be held up as a beacon of artistry and it's tragic no ones ever heard of it. The thing is almost everyone who would appreciate the final season would dislike the first two, so no ones seen it! So sad, it's such a fantastic show.

Black Comedy is very hit-or-miss with audiences. You generally don't see a lot of black comedies that are box office successes for this reason.

Personally I think it's a brilliant show but I know that my sense of humor is rather messed up so I can understand why shows like this didn't have mass appeal.

It's just not to many peoples' tastes. Also, it was fixated early on (erroneously so, but there you have it) as anti-church propaganda, generally by persons thinking this was intended for child audiences.
