I've only seen one episode and wasn't sure.
It's either loosely scripted like Curb Your Enthusiasm with actors playing versions of themselves, or it's a real look into her life and everything is natural and not acted.

It's a 'reality show.' Essentially, it's not scripted but situations are set up and everyone's aware they're being filmed so they're trying to be entertaining.

Sadly, these past few seasons have been scripted to the max. They try to set up situations that are very typical comedy routines.
I miss the earlier seasons when things seemed a more random and hilarious. Not digging Kathy with all these guest stars.
Kathy. I believe on Howard Stern. was saying how it is hard to do the show now because a christmas for her now is going to Cher's house.
