Inspired By Dream Theater?

I just bought Dream Theater's album Metropolis Part 2 : Scenes From A Memory and I was immediately struck by the similarities to Still Life. Both game and album tell the story of a murder committed in the past, both feature a character called Victoria and they both have a similar feel to them, if you know what I mean. I wonder if the developers of the game liked that album and intentionally based the game on it.
