Unrealistic modern playing cards

The film has it's flaws, eg the Swedish 'dialougue' and some historical accuracy, as has been mentioned elsewhere, and like most historical films everthing is too 'clean'. It also has some advantages, such as the fact that people speak their own languages, with varying degrees of pronounciation skills.

I have not, however, noticed any comments on this message board regarding the playing cards used in one of the early scenes of the film. It struck me that they look extremely modern, are very neatly printed and cut and even appear to be laminated in some way. The style of the pictures on the cards are also the same as can be seen on many standard playing cards today. It's obviously possible that these particular pictures were in use already in the 18th century, although I doubt it, but I am no expert in the history of playing cards.

In the end my vote for this film was a 4, because it does, in my opinion, allow a number of small, unnecessary mistakes like this, to flaw an otherwise rather good production.
