Who else saw the movie in theaters last night?!!!

You know for the special, 6-7-07, one-night-only "Shonen Jump" US theatrical showing?

Caught it at a 7PM showing here in Jacksonville, FL! Was my first time seeing anything Naruto and it was kinda of cool. My theater was crowded as hell for the one screen that was showing it. There were a lot of fans there both young and old and many were dressed up with Naruto "metal headbands" and other cosplay gear. The crowd was real excited and laughed and clapped at everything, which made the experience more fun.

I, personally, thought the movie itself was only sort of "okay". Compared to a lot of other anime movies, even basic ones like those that were made for Dragon Ball, this one seemed to come up short of expectations. Many sections were paced slower then they seemed to need to be and some of the comedy fell flat. Plus, the action sequences seemed like the could have been a little longer or more climactic. I bet the movie plays slightly better in the Japanese language however, this showing was dubbed.

It was definitely a fun way to pass the time though - I thought all the behind-the-scenes documentaries and interviews they showed before and after the movie were cool. What if they showed that kind of stuff theatrically for other films?

Everybody laughed and screamed when they saw who Naruto's US voice actor was!

Anyway, yeah, it was a neat experience...
