Ashraff Family and Hamas

I'm a Muslim but I dont live in Middle East. And to let you know in my country, when it comes to Israeli-Palestinian conflicts, our media tends to describe the Palestinians from the Hamas side (who are very religious and conservative). With all the women wearing the long veil, guys have good religious upbringing. We call them as religious warriors and authentic Muslims. We adore them all. Personally I take it as it's hard to believe all of them are like that but that's what most of us think here when we hear about the Palestinian people.

After watching the movie, I thought Ashraf family wasn't that religious at all. They might uphold the Arab culture traditionally but in term of Islamic value they are just moderate. His sister didn't wear hijab, they (Ashraf sister and Jihad) touch each other even before marriage and ironically, Jihad involved with that strictly religious Hamas. Can anyone here explain the real Palestinians as majority? How do they act, live, behave and dress? Are they kinda living in a conservative society or they also vary according to background - just like the Israeli counterpart who have diverse culture.

I used to read somewhere in articles regarding the conflict, that Hamas actually is not that religious but some bunch of extreme chaps who use religion for the sake of their political and national profits. I dunno and I can't judge because I dunno the reality there. Those who live in the Israel/Palestine or any country in Middle East may know better.

The West Bank is very liberal, there are bars and Christians and some women don't cover up and most muslims are not that religious.... Think of it like Jordan...
