BRIAN JOHNSON VS. BON SCOTT

Who do you think was the better singer? Brian Johnson or Bon Scott?

I think Brian Johnson because of the Back in Black and For those About to Rock We Salute You album, which by the way, rox!

Better singer = Brian

Better suited for AC/DC = Bon

Yeah......In the last 6 months..I've got to know alot about Bon Scott, And I like his singing....there is something that just hits me when he is belting out a tune. I always wondered what it would've been like for Bon to have been able to sing the songs from "Hells bells" on Up. Since Brian has sang some of the old Bon Hits. Plus when I watch this DVD...It's always Disc 1 that gets watched.

they have two different styles, and it's not right to compare them... they both rock, and they both along with Angus are the greatest rockers in the world!!!

reply

I too find myself watching only Disc 1.

Bon Scott... Sure Brian Johnson sung a few awesome hits but by far the original lead singer was the best... Long way to the top... And who can forget the school girl costume he wore??? When I saw that on the DVD I burst out laughing!

Interesting - before Bon Scott joined AC/DC, my grandparents went to one of the bars he played at, and apparently he was a ... "very naughty boy indeed" according to my grandmother, she told me that night a couple of policemen walked in and one of them pointed at Bon and said, "I've got my eye on you!"... hahahahaha

- No, she's just resting her eyes for a minute. Of course she's f#%king dead, her neck's broken.

No contest - BON WAS THE MAN!

As for Brian - sorry, but to these ears, he always sounded like a screeching monkey getting its balls crushed by a vise grip!

absolutely, undoubtedly, it was Bon Scott. Back in Black, the album, was great...good stuff afterwards. BUT, Bon Scott was just better. and it fits: in the 70s, ACDC was a real rock-and-roll Boogie band. so much of the Brian Johnson era was arena rock, etc. lacked real intimacy.

Brian Johnson could never pull off "Squealer", for example
