While showing proposed locations on Skeleton Island, Miss Wilbur says the Big Dipper will be visible from the food court. Thing is, Skeleton Island is in South Africa which is in the Southern Hemisphere where the Big Dipper cannot be seen (Bob should really have caught that!)

A number of times they go somewhere in a vehicle where the driver conveniently disappears (allowing them to break into Miss Wilbur's house, for instance) or is not present at all (going to and from the Island the last times) although it is not really clear who is driving. Wouldn't the three boys be both underage, and unlicensed to drive in that country, making it very very illegal to drive themselves?

Sure there are more but I didn't bother with them. Fast-paced entertaining movie worth watching once.

The Big Dipper is in reference to the name of a ride they will be putting in on Skeleton Island so hemisphere doesn't actually matter. The boys go to miss wilbur's house in a cab (they show the inside of the cab with the driver) and are dropped off. Bill takes them some places as well...they never drive themselves as they are (as you mentioned) under age.
