Just saw 48 shades today - and it was an enjoyable 90 or so minutes but nothing spectacular really. It was well made, well acted and gave me a few glorious laughs (the party scene is VERY funny!).
However not sure which party animal you were referring to. Nick Donaldson is very funny as the nerdy best friend Chris Burns aka "Friction" - but it was Mathew Booth as Phil who stole the show at the party.
Maybe i am wrong - but i did stay around for the credits cos Matthew reminded me of my Year 8 Chemistry teacher a bit. I THINK Mathew has a good chance of an AFI nomination for Best Supporting Actor for his performance and Victoria Thaine is definitely a star of the future. She is very good in this and equally good in Caterpillar Wish. She'll be heading off to the USA really really soon.
