Great film but i have it figured out

Great film yep but i don't know why everyone thinks it's so complicated to figure out.

The point of the film is simply this:

He runs over a kid and drives off. He represses this memory so deep to the point that his own subconscence/psyche creates Ivan to be the guilty party and this is also the reason why he can't sleep.

When Reznik takes the kid to the route 666 scary ride, u see two choices:
Left was Hell and RIght was Salvation. He always took left. But near the end when he finaly realizes he needs to confess and come clean (therefore he can sleep), left was to the airport (flee) or right was to downtown (salvation).

That's it folks...the film wasn 't meant to be complicated to figure out, it was only meant to take us through the deep experiences of what goes on in the psychological/emotional/spiritual state of a person who represses a crime/sin/guilt when all he needs to do is come clean and confess to have peace and salvation.
