Janis

I loved the Janis character!

reply

Yes. A great performance. Made me think of Kathy Bates.

reply

I thought so too and weird that she's not listed on the cast list here. Does anyone know who played her.

reply

Found Janis here at http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0493327/ The administration seemed to forget to put it's two main characters in the cast list here. Also missing, Alexandra Paul.

reply

Thanks, amenicenil! I just checked and they added Alexandra Paul but left a blank where her character's name should be. Strange, but I can't blame imdb, because considering the volume of data, they do a damned good job. I don't like that they put the actors in abc order because if you have no idea who the actors are it's hard to identify the more obscure characters. Again, I appreciate your help! Not only is imdb great, but a lot of its posters are as well.

reply

What do you mean she's not listed?

"If not now, when?"

reply

Yes, that is who I thought of too!

reply

I hated her, she was a major bitch and she killed Fred the kitty! >:(

reply

I loved how Janis used the quotes to make herself seem so perfect. I bet she would be the type to write down things she was going to say to people so that everything she said would come out perfect later that day. I once new a guy who did that actually. Very insecure. I'm sure he's in some rubber room by this point. And yes, the stupid b*$ch killed Freddy. You can't kill a cat. I'd rather have seen her get killed.

Ksenia Solo played the daughter I think

reply

I'd rather have seen her get killed.

I agree, I thought it was rather weak that she didn't die at the end. I mean, this whole movie was stupid anyway so it wouldn't have made it any worse to kill her off in the end, like break her neck from that fall or land on a piece of wood that skewered her like a shish kebab. And killing the cat was totally frivolous and unnecessary. I had zero respect for this film after that. Doesn't even deserve one star.

Do you think that Janis really killed the cat? Or was it coyotes? It could have just been a vicious coincidence.

reply

Janis definitely killed the cat. She tries to kill Alexandra Paul in the end, so why wouldn't she kill a cat?

reply

I LOVED Janis.

reply

Shannon Lawson was great.

reply

To be honest, I hated her character. I know that she was/is vital to the film but everything about that character disgusted me. The pathetic neediness, whining and complaining and blaming others for her problems. She was totally jealous and envious of Laura's life.

It's my house, and I live here.

reply

I thought she was fabulous!

reply

alotta fun

reply

I would enjoy knowing a colorful, witty person like Janis, (unless she harmed my pets or worse.) But I love having the kind of friend who invites you for a girls night out and won't take no for an answer. Janis also had an upbeat sense of humor, except where certain issues were concerned, like her ex-husband, and her daughter's failure to make the soccer team. Otherwise, she displayed a sunny disposition. Nobody's perfect.

reply

personally i found her annoying. i actually wanted to slap her at times especially when she asked laura to ask erin to give up her spot on the team.

reply

I wouldn't slap anyone capable of knocking the cowboy s##t out of me where I crash into the wall, then land on the floor!!!

I live in a glass house, ergo, I throw no stones.

I throw stones and I sell windows

reply

She was definitely crazy. I never would have become friends with her in the first place.

Tomorrow's just your future yesterday!

reply

Did anyone understand why she was so into food? The scene with the pizza boxes, and the chicken, and the fritos bags....Weird.

reply

Yeah she was a weird one. I figured her room was like an innersanctum where her not so perfect self came out (ie messy house, gross fatty food etc). Sort of like the dark side to her personality. Make sense or am I stoned?

reply

I agree. It's always the overweight messy person who is ill-portrayed. I AM SICK OF IT.

reply

The food thing puzzled me too. I'm not much of a gambling chappie but if I were betting on the outcome of a fight between a permanently guzzling lard-arse and a woman who exercises every day I think I would have to put my money on Alexandra Paul's character who should (in my opinion) have asked the fat bith to leave and then simply nutted her and kicked her out of the house.

reply

maybe she had too much salt in her diet?

Hey, sprechen sie talk?

reply

i personally think she is the creepiest character i have eva seen in a tv movie

reply

I loved the character of Janis as well. Shannon Lawrence did a great job portraying her.

reply

I hate people like her. People like her need to be taken to some island and left out of the general human race. LOL.....You remember the movie, Escape from New York? All the Jani's need to be by themselves "Escape from a deserted Island" type, away from the rest of humanity.

reply

she was great.
