I want to see this again!

I like the part with Emile du Chatalate, and Lise Mietner, and the part when Albert Einstein leaves on the train and they show the train gowing away from Mileva, as she looks down on the ground and glances up a few times. She looked so old and tortured!

years late, i'm commenting on how fun this was to watch-NOVA is usually very good in this respect, and did not disappoint on this one.

The Lithgow narration was somehow spot-on, maybe from remembering him in that cheesy 80's sci-fi/teen flick Manhattan Project, about a kid who steals some radioactive material and builds a primitive nuclear bomb.

Anyway, i was pleasantly surprised by all the insights into the atomic world-and the way the program seemed to make it easier to understand than usual.

Often, especially reading A Brief History of Time, I admit my head is swimming and i have no real reference to understand of what Mr Hawking is speaking.(Wow-managed to end that without a preposition-that's why it reads so awkward, IMO)

So I found it refreshing to feel as if I was almost close to understanding-

I especially liked this part-energy can become matter, as in the train approaching the speed-of-light scenario, the train gets heavier and appears to slow down.

And, most importantly, matter becomes energy.

We really are all stardust, and i find that one of the most comforting thoughts ever to reach my brain.

I, too, DVD-R'ed this from TV, and lend it to any physics student (or geek) that I know. This should be part of school's curriculum, right up there with Donald Duck in Mathmagic Land. It's one of the best "Nova" shows I've seen.

I just saw it in the german dubbed version. I think it was an international production with lots of renowned british actors in it, money from several countries, and you saw that money on screen!! great information program!
