Film addressed not only to a small group of viewers
Similarly to John Paul II, a genius at the dialogue with various people of different lifestyles, denominations or believes, the film is addressed to various viewers. It has been released in Polish cinemas recently and the premiere saw a number of celebrations, particularly Voight and the producers met with our president, prime minister and some church hierarchy representatives.
Harrison's film is a good work, a real tribute to John Paul II. What I liked about it is that the movie does not force some belief upon a person. If you are a Christian, you will find the heart of your believes in this movie. Who showed Christ to people so much in today's world as John Paul II did? If you are a Jew or Muslim and you respect peace, you will find a great example in this person. Who is so much considered a peace maker as John Paul II? As a matter of fact, the dialogue with other religions was a key to his politics. If you believe in Buddha, you will find a huge harmony of soul and flesh and particular harmony of mind in the person of John Paul II.
If you are an atheist, you will probably dislike the talk of God. Nevertheless, you will maybe reflect on one thing... Is it only a circumstance that such a person lived? Who can win the authority of the world so much as John Paul II did? If you limit his life to these 85 years, O.K. That's your opinion. But is there nothing in the closed Book of Gospels on his funeral?
Indeed, a film for everyone, like John Paul II was for everyone...
