An ALL CATHOLIC political party

Has anyone here any opinions on the forming of an all catholic political party. It seems with parties throughout the world picking and choosing their policies it is time there was a general absolute politics that represented the beliefs, morals and philospohies of the Catholic church.

I am from Ireland and secularism is creeping in slowly with relativism reigning supreme on the political arena. They are campaigning to take religion out of the constitution here and all to satisfy the so called non elected equality commission of the European Union.

This equality commission is also preparing an initiative that would see the church forced to ordain women and catholic hospitals forced to perform abortions if the mother so wishes. It seems politics around the globe is getting out of control all in the name of "equality".

Even in America it makes sense surely with faithful Catholics having no voting choice were the Republicans are pro death penalty and the democrats pro abortion. Is it not time Catholics entered the political arena and fought against this atheistic communism growing like a disease throughout our world. Otherwise the anti Catholic bias may one day see our faith outlawed.

Have you ever heard of 3rd parties, like the Green party or the Libertarian party? And what's so bad about curches ordaining women? It's not like they're going to kill all the men in the church. You have a point with the abortions, those are evil. The death peanalty? You can't let murderers just rome around the streets. People need a reason not to kill eachother. And with politics, you really shouldn't vote based purely off of religion. Face it, all the candidates are politicians so you're really voting for the person you think is less of an idiot than the other candidates.

I agree with that. Women aren't ordained because the church hasn't the power to ordain them. They haven't been given that power by God. As well as that the consecration at Mass is supposed to be an exact replica of the passover in which Christ turned his body and blood into bread and wine. He was a man. This is the reason

As for the death penalty in modern Western society there is no need whatsoever for the death penalty when there are top security prison to keep people locked up for life if necessary. If in a primitive society you meet a man killing randomly for no reason and there is no way to stop him or lock him up then and only in rare occasions would the death penalty be justified to protect people around him.

Those are the teachings of the Catholic church. They would be the policies of a Catholic party and I don't think anyone can argue moraly against them. At the end of the day they are based on pure common sense. I believe many non Catholics would vote for those policies based on the morals.

well I can argue against the woman idea... no where in the Bible or in Jesus' teaching does it say that somehow Women is lesser than men and should not be ordained. I respect the tradition of the Catholic Church to keep priests male, but it irritates me ever so slightly when people say that God does not want women to be ordained as priests. How do you know? Traditions were formed by humble men, values and morality was formed by God

I respect your opinions regarding the Women being priests matter. Whilst it may be viewed as a slight to females, indicating that they are lesser to some degree than men. This is most certainly not true. Look at how important the role of Mary is, as a guide and mother-role in the church itself. Whilst we don't hold roles such as priests, cardinals etc, we are a very significant and important part of the church.

This isn't meant to be preachy, and apologise if it seems as such.
