I hate to knock the film because I agree with the intent. Yes, let's educate people on why we need to save our GA airports.
But I see this film more as a PR campaign. Great in flight images and background on Van Nuys, but not really a film *about* flying IMO. At least, it wasn't what I was hoping for...
I agree with the 2 first posts, as a pilot, I found this film inspiring and conveyed the passion of flight to pilots very well. I have tried showing it to a few non pilot friends and they could not sit and watch the entire thing and were not able to connect to it. I have watched it over 25 times now, my wife has not been able to set and watch the entire thing either.
I too thought this came off as more of a PR campaign to promote the airport and general aviation. I was expecting more about the golden age of the 30's - 50's, and celebrities at the airport. Also I could care less that it had "an original score". I would rather listen to engines than music. It was mostly sad, seeing how this airport built in the boonies is now engulfed into urban blight.
