It is redundant to ask anything like what happened. This is rubbish masquerading as "art". How anyone put up money for this is astonishing. It is The Emperor's New Clothes syndrome which the world of the Arts falls prey to from time to time. Another good example is Damien Hirst's work.
sharewell, it brought me enjoyment to watch so you must just be saying you didn't like it. everybody has different taste, there's no reason to pretend you have an objective opinion. i like movies that offer strange, well-paced visuals over narrow driving plot structures.
the nun segments and the celebrity impersonator segments tie in together only thematically, the movie is more exploring some themes than telling one linear story. it is two linear stories, which have nothing to do with one another save for the fact that they inquire in the same (or nearby) spiritual territory.
the celebrities thought they were different but found out they are the same. their miracle did not happen, the world did not come to worship them as they had wanted.
the nuns had a real miracle, through their faith, but it was unpredictable and fleeting. life's a bitch, but there is magic.
that's how i saw it.
I interpreted it similarly. Something about faith in little human triumphs, and the futility therein.
