What a pointless exercise on film.
Can anyone actually claim to be entertained by this garbage?
I'll admit the plot summary captured my imagination. A movie about celebrity impersonators living and working together and putting on a show. Michael Jackson, Marilyn Monroe and Charlie Chaplin! That sounds awesome! Only Harmony Korine could have turned out this absolutely pointless and useless piece of dreck. The only thing more interesting than this unbelievably dull story that goes nowhere is the idea of nuns jumping out of a plane without a parachute in order to test their faith. Almost sounds like a Monty Python sketch, and its placement in this movie makes no sense, other than it was a leftover idea from another project that the director decided to pad into this movie (in order for self-important blowhards to derive some grand "meaning" and give this no-talent hack the undue credit and respect he has never deserved). However, even this idea seems to be abandoned without any sense of cohesion or pay-off.
All that being said, this is still Harmony Korine's most engaging film. Which says absolutely nothing for the other utterly offensive pieces of shít he has put out into the world.
GO FÚCKING KILL YOURSELF, HARMONY KORINE.
He belongs on a list of the worst filmmakers of all time, alongside Larry Clark and Uwe Boll.
