Pochi The dog - is he a Shiba Inu?

Is Pochi, the hero dog of the movie a Shiba Inu?

I'm signed onto to my husband's IMDB account, so let me make that clear before I say:

This movie made me cry buckets. I am a dog person and have loved and lost a couple of really wonderful dogs in my life. I bawled like a baby at least 4 times during this movie. The section where we see the girl lamenting the loss of her dog and then from the female dog's point of view only to see the girl sitting by the dogs body after she died - I cried so hard I had to take a Migraine Pill - I gave myself severe headache from being overcome with emotion.

Still, Im love this film and I love Pochi the dog.

Pochi is a ghost at the ned right? And Yamada dies and goes to wherever Pochi is, am I right? Pochi cannot have lived all those years, or could he?

Who else loves Pochi?

Pochi died infront of the hospital waiting for Yamada.
I dont think Yamada dies but just dreaming about Pochi. I believe he let go of Pochi's ghost by throwing the ball into the bushes, again.

oh oo hoo. Now I'm gonna cry again. Well, whenever Yamada dies, Pochi will e there waiting for him with the ball. That's what I choose to believe even though I know they are fictional characters.

Pochi = Good Dog!
