Im surprised Bourdain hasnt been to Philadelphia yet. Or for that matter, Pittsburgh. Personally I kinda hate Philadelphia. I live between NYC and Philadelphia and would much prefer to go to NYC over Philadelphia. Philadelphia just feels dirty. But I would like to see Bourdains take on Philadelphia, and how he would cover Cheesesteaks. And of course hed be making a visit to Morimoto.
shareThe entire city isn't dirty! There are good parts and bad parts and great parts like most US cities. As for him not coming here I've posted about this before here and at this point he is snubbing us on purpose, I don't know why. I really don't think Viet Nam and Japan need so many episodes and he skips over one of the country's largest cities. And I don't want to see him come here and waste time on Cheese Steaks unless he goes to a nieghborhood place and not one of the tourist places like Pats.
shareI don't think he's snubbing us, personally. Think of it from his perspective. He grew up in NY (I think). He now has a TV show that would allow him to travel anywhere in the world. I wouldn't want to go to Philly, either when I could go to Asia and Europe. That being said, he should go to Cosmi's for Cheesesteaks if he ever does come to Philly.

but i think he has something against philly. in his New Jersey episode, where he was getting a italian sub he said "oh and some place, i forget the name, calls this a hoagie" thats a direct insult to philly, we have great italian markets that he would love but he wants no part
and nyc is just as dirty as philly. all parts of all major cities has dirty parts.

Philly is a GREAT city, as great as any of the other top Amrican cities insofar as it has great restaurants, tourist attractions, etc, and even moreso in that it was the cradle of liberty and has Independence Mall, The Liberty Bell.
Would like to see him go to Old Bookbinders, Walt's, Criniti's. Olde City.
