is there anything more on the horizon than the standard AI tropes?

i saw it it was well produced i guess, but the western setting is gimmicky for a matrix-esque setup. i mean they could be some stuff like the operators being robots but how far can you keep going with these long played out tropes of selfawareness and conciousness and what it means to be human blah blah

they say this is the next huge sci fi shows thats the talk of the town but i dont see it
