Same ending....

Sorry of this topic has already been discussed. I'm a big fan fo Asian cinema and all, but what exactly is it with the same ending over again where one of lovers die? Not just in Shinobi, but Ichi (the blind swordswoman 2008), the Empress and the Warriors, the Princess Blade, the Shadowless Sword, Sky of Love, Battle of the Warriors, etc.

I would understand if it were to bring about longing emotions and all, but it's like now every time I pick up an Asian movie I always ask myself which of the lovers will die.

Because in life when war happens life sucks so somebody is going to die or both. At least they show lovers die in war than in American movies. In most cases American movies gets happy endings which get tired watching them. I want to see where nobody makes it when they reach their goal. Those movies are interesting.

Seem to be modeled on Greek tragedies and Shakespeare. Where someone always dies.
