How about a law against plots involving killing pets?

Was it necessary to kill the dog in 'Cello'? I'm really tired of this going on in horror and mystery films. Kill people instead. Too bad Korean films don't go in a new direction....The talent is there, the skills are there...but the plots are pure old-style western horror junk.

That's a pretty F'd up thinking process... human lives are less important than an animal's life?

PS - This movie was far better than most "Western horror junk", because it wasn't a "horror" per se, it was a psychological thriller about guilt.

Better check out some of your fellow humans once in a while.

What? What the heck does that even mean? Murderers, Thieves, Rapists??? Animals do all this and more without social/moral judgement... so that makes it easier for you?

reply

I would personally like to strangle Marley from Marley & Me just making me sit thru that film.

Yeah, pretty much... in most cases. Most humans are not good people. Other than the bible, which is fiction anyway, what authority ever said that OUR lives are more important?

reply

Soooo...don't watch any more horror movies and stick to Disney. Truth is, pets die. I had one put to sleep on Christmas Eve because his seizures were out of control and would not stop. I cried for days. A few weeks ago, my old one, age 14, we found him dead in the back yard. It is heartbreaking and sad, and that is the reality of it. Keeping animals from dying in movies does not help. Like I said, stick to Disney...

reply

No, I agree with the OP. Watching animals die is really sad because they are innocent.

reply

"Animals are innocent".... that's the laugh of the day!

"This are Nice shoes! Couldn't you afford some real Nike?"

I have a nice little story concerning matters like this - though it didn't happen in a movie but in real life.
Imagine a falconer who went hawking with a golden eagle, which is pretty hard. But she was a good bird and he was a pro in his job, so there were no problems - just until the day she spotted a kid near "her" fawn. Guess who she liked better? Question is what do *we* like better?

If this had been a movie scene many people would have said "It's the kid's/the parents' own fault, running around in an official hunting ground, man! Gladly the cute fawn is still alive." Strangely in real life things were a bit different... Sorry for posting that and sorry for everyone who feels offended, I just had to note this story. Think about it before flaming.

PS: Where exactly did I say that I *like* animals being killed in the movies?
PPS: Is it really *such* a different thing?

Now think again.

Yes, it is necessary to kill the pets. If you find a pet being kileld disturbing, then the movie has done it's job properly. It's an horror movie, it HAS TO BE DISTURBING! That's what it does, that's why it's called the HORROR genre and not the FOUNDLING THE PET genre.

If you can't stomach such things, then don't watch horror.

And are you one of those disturbed and crazy loonies who have no problem watching people get killed in movies but get all upset if a pet dies? Because, really, i have absolutly no respect whatsoever for that kind of idiots.

Firstly, you're a human dumbass. Secondly, not every person is guilty of a crime. Thirdly, I find it funny that you choose to complain over a dog being killed instead of complaining about the little girl that was killed in the film. Or wait, that's not f ucked up because she's a human. You truly are a complete idiot.

THIS from someone whose username is Memories Of Murder? Yeah... I take YOU seriously! And animals definitely ARE innocent, you moron. They kill to eat, that is it. Just where the hell are you getting your info from? Go back to grade school - you might learn something!

I agree. and, by the way, weren't here CHILDREN killed too in this film? but that nobody posts about because animals are 'better than us', or something.

reply

It's just a movie and its a horror movie, so, bad things happen.

reply

I raise goats and kill them, if I ever made a movie about myself would it be unwatchable for you?
Just asking...

reply

I always have a hard time watching animals die in movies even though I know it's fake. I just look the other way.

reply

so animals only" kill to eat and thats it"? Never seen a cat capture a bird and torture it till its dead and then walk away? They are not very nice to mice either.Or dogs who would rip eachother apart if they could. Or cock fighting?
