Could someone help me figure it out? I mean, it thought Nichola died?

I thought Trish died (or whatever her characters name was). The movie makes no sense.

The last scene was a scene of Nichola (Trishelle) in a hospital bed). Her eyes open, setting it up for a sequel, and then the credits roll.
