'Scenes' My Space page updated

In case anyone is interested, the director has updated the film's My Space page. www.myspace.com/scenesofasexualnature

This is his opening message -

Hi,

I'm a really stressed, but excited, director/producer.

I’ve made an ultra low budget feature film called SCENES OF A SEXUAL NATURE, which stars amongst others Ewan McGregor, Oscar nominated Sophie Okonedo and Catherine Tate.

The film's total budget from start to finish, including all post production, was only £260,000 (about $400,000).

It has taken 18 months to get to this point, each and everyday has been utterly mad, and often the pressure has been intense but I have loved every single minute of it.

We have broken many of the so-called industry 'rules' and if that isn¹t enough we have now decided to break one more rule. We are releasing the film nationwide by ourselves. We believe it is largest ever self-release by filmmakers in the UK.

We had offers from established distributors but we felt, as many filmmakers have experienced before, that the deals were stacked against us.

So, we have set up our own distribution company 'The Really Honest Little Distribution Company'.

On November 3, we are taking on the big Hollywood studios as we open in the cinemas on the same day as other multi-million dollar productions from major US distributors.

I am new to My Space. We have managed to persuade an on-line company, Rareface, to work for peanuts (but I promised to plug them on this page) to help us design this page.

This film has been made in a wonderful grassroots spirit, everybody who has worked on it has done so for a fraction of their normal fee, including Ewan McGregor.

If we manage to distribute the film successfully then hopefully other filmmakers will be encouraged to do the same.

I am asking for some help from the MYSPACE community.

We are trying to organise screenings of the film, competitions for people to become presenters at the premiere, daily Vodcasts, but if anybody can help raise the profile of the film it would be really appreciated. I will try to write back to as many people as possible, probably late at night, but we have a few volunteers who will try to keep in contact with people writing in.

Thank you in advance for helping us.

Cheers

Ed Blum
