Superb

saw the film last night with the writer and director. It was so good, the writing is really well done, and, it only took them month to write the script. ewan mcgregor only got paid £450 for doing the film. This is mainly because the whole budget for the film was £450,000 which was the same amount of money that was spent on the catering for Love actually.
All the actors and half of the crew had signed up for the film without knowing that there was no money behind it whatsoever.
Go and see this film, its brilliantly british with quirky characters and and a fantastic cast to play them. This is one of my faveourite comedies this year.

Dribbler >>>>>> I sure wish I could go to see it. Way to far away. Hopefully the film will do good and it will get a wide release. I am glad that you enjoyed it and I hope many many others will too. Ewan doing low budget films for little money because he loves the script, is one of the reasons that I adore him. I just don't like the idea that some of what he does in Britian doesn't get over here in the US. I read that the director said if it did really well in Britian, that it would get a wide release. So, here's hopeing it does extra good!!!!

Sorry, but I hated it. Boring and nothing happened. No story, just a series of little vignettes, barely, if at all related to each other. Some of the scenes were mildly amusing. Many were tedious.

It's cool to see a film get made this way and I'm sure a lot of effort went into making it. I just didn't enjoy the end result. Each to his own, I guess.

I loved the film. Really good - found Ewan and Douglas's scene the most heart-tugging

I am amazed that some consider SOASN as boring. I liked the movie very much. To me, it is just briliant! I love the fact that the movie doensn't deal in absolutes. I just loved the episode with gay couple played by Douglas Hodge and Ewan McGregor.
I couldn't relate to the episode which featured Adrien Lester's character and his freshly divorced ex-wife.
That, however, did not ruin the fil for me. I highly recommend it.

I felt the same way, i couldnt believe when i read the user comment on this film, i was speechless when i read it he says the movie is awful says the camera view was awful etc... i watched the movie and enjoyed every single second of it i loved the story line i loved the scenery i loved the job the actors did etc... the movie was very well enjoyed by me and my family, this is why people should always watch a movie before they judge it and never go by what other people say until you watch it yourselve first because you might miss out big time..... great movie great great and super great!!

Quite enjoyed it really tbh; decent enough acting, subtle humour, engaging scenes.

It seemed to be played out more like a play than a film - not the usual beginning-middle-end story arcs that are normally associated with the usual Brit rom-com.

One thing that did let it down though was the highly unoriginal score. Personally I would've gone for something slightly less... Six Feet Under/Four Weddings-y? But then I don't make films, I just watches them.

I thought this was one of the most pointless, dull films I've seen in a long while. When it finally ended, I was amazed at how the story (stories) had failed to accomplish anything. It just seemed like a series of meaningless, random vignettes on love - quite badly acted in some cases. I was hoping there would be some sort of interesting structure where the different characters cross each others paths, but this hardly happened at all. There was no resolution whatsoever. It was a bit like eavesdropping on other people’s boring conversations. Very disappointing.

Well I just saw this film on BBC1, I actually enjoyed it quite alot to be honest.

Some points I would make though - When people think of the word 'film' some people immediately think of twisting plots, fast car chases etc, I think complaining that this film doesn't go anywhere is a bit like complaining a Bond film has little or no intellectual value. It's a collection of short stories which would perhaps be better suited to 'made for tv' only purposes, but as far as I can see this film doesn't claim it's going to go anywhere inparticular.

It's a casual comment on relationships and the oddities surrounding them, the acting is pretty solid and a couple of scenes aside, I thought the script worked quite nicely actually, the real problem being that little of the characters have enough time on-screen to feel empathy towards them which perhaps is a failing, although I still found it fairly charming to be honest.

If I had paid to watch this film at the box office I could understand certain points, but ultimately it is what it is. I understand people thinking it's twee or stilted, but moaning that it's not something it never claims to be seems a little stupid to me.

It's the type of film that I really enjoyed spending a glass of wine and a Saturday night with, silly, amusing, fluffy but with an underlying intelligence to the script which did occasionly make you think. Certainly won't stay long in the memory, but worth a watch anyway if you want to escape for a while.
