Possibly the worst film I have ever seen

I'm often quite open-minded when it comes to films. I watch a lot of stuff I wouldn't normally watch... But when I saw this I absolutely hated it! It beats Seabiscuit by far on my most hated films xD I'm sure the opera is great and all, but I won't be seeing it after this!

I got to meet Kenneth Branagh after the showing (it was a screening at the Curzon in London) and he was suprisingly good about what most of the audience thought, his responses to some of the questions were really thought out. Shame none of us liked it loll.

Why exactly didn't you like it? Because of the World War I setting or what? If you're going to tell us you don't like something, the least you can do is explain why.

If you don't like opera and were expecting some watered-down version of Mozart's music, or something that would appeal only to a film fan who goes to movies only to watch explosions and other special effects, you're not going to get it here. Branagh sets his Shakespeare adaptations in unusual places, but he always deeply respects the text. And there is no reason to suppose that he wouldn't respect Mozart's music equally.

No idea, that was 3 years ago.

And 'explosions and other special effects' don't appeal to me in the slightest, by the way.

ok so you've taken the trouble to post that you hated a film, but you can't say why. Bit of a timewaster, aren't you?

reply

I was 3 years ago, yes. If I were asked why I hated the film back then I probably could have given you a half decent reason.
